Charles F. Walz, IV (Chip) is a Vice President with Morgan Stanley in the Madison, CT office. Chip was a Director in Investment Banking, having worked at Merrill Lynch from 2002 until 2012.
Chip earned a Master’s in Business Administration with Honors from Kellogg Graduate School of
Management, Northwestern University in 2002.
Prior to a career in finance, Chip spent seven years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy serving on three different destroyers after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in Economics with Honors in 1993 and winner of the Frederick L. Sawyer Prize in Economics. He served on five deployments, including four to the Persian Gulf region and was recalled to active service for nine months following September 11, 2001.
He is an active runner and triathlete, completed numerous marathons and half Ironmans and serves on the Board of the Madison Foundation and as Chairman of the local Cub Scout Pack.
Chip is married to Erin McAvoy and they have three sons, Quin, Nate and Alex.
