The Madison Foundation has announced its support of the Eileen Johnson Memorial Fountain at Tuxis Pond. This project, spearheaded by the Madison Chamber of Commerce, celebrates the life of Eileen Johnson and her innumerable contributions to the town of Madison.
The Madison Foundation is pleased to serve as the fiduciary for the project, and will accept tax-deductible contributions to support the effort.
“Eileen did so much for our community,” said Rose McLaughlin, chair of the Chamber’s Image Committee. “Prior to her passing, she was leading the charge to revitalize Tuxis Pond, and had a vision of installing a fountain for both beauty and to aerate the pond. We are delighted to bring her vision to reality, and to establish this fountain in her honor.”
The Chamber is working with the town, candidates for both an Eagle Scout and a Girl Scout Award, and other civic groups to develop and install the fountain and improve the pond and its surroundings. A dedication and celebration is planned for later this summer.
