Helping Madison Through Grantmaking

For twenty-five years, generous contributions from individuals, families, and organizations have enabled us to improve the quality of life in Madison through grantmaking. We draw from unrestricted reserves and work in partnership with donors who have established funds and scholarships to make grant funding available to local nonprofits. The foundation has awarded over $2 million in grants and scholarships to organizations and students in our community.

Grant Programs

The Madison Foundation helps nonprofits carry out their important work by awarding grants in several key areas including: arts and culture, civic affairs, education, the environment, and health and human services. Grant requests are accepted year-round and are considered on a monthly basis. The board of directors consider projects that will improve the quality of life in the Town of Madison.

Donor-Directed Grants

Several donors with advised funds will consider supporting applications received through our grant programs. The board of directors will review all applications and forward those that align with donor interests. The Madison Foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals for grants from donor-advised funds.
