The Madison Foundation Receives $20,000 Donation to Support the Community During COVID-19 Crisis

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Guilford Savings Bank has announced a $20,000 donation to the Madison Foundation’s Neighbor to Neighbor Fund (N2N). Neighbor to Neighbor was founded in 2008 to serve the most vulnerable citizens in our community.

The N2N donation is one of four gifts, totaling $100,000, that the community bank has offered to four area foundations. It specifically responds to the financial hardships and immediate needs of Madison residents.

Neighbor to Neighbor works closely with Madison Youth and Family Services and the Senior Services to offer help in times of crisis. The all-volunteer organization also raises funds to help individuals. Neighbor to Neighbor has purchased home heating oil for the elderly and for struggling families and has provided financial assistance to women and children left destitute after divorce or separation. It is ready to help our town weather the difficult times ahead.

Now It’s Your Turn …

Concerned citizens can support these efforts by making a donation on our site and designating it for the Neighbor to Neighbor fund. Food banks will need your support. Homebound seniors and the elderly sheltering in place will need your support. Gig workers and families who have lost their sources of income will need your support. Now is the time for everyone to come together to help our neighbors in need. Donate Now

The Madison Foundation encourages other local banks and businesses to support this broad community effort to react to the global pandemic.

The Madison Foundation, founded in 1996, has more than thirty endowed funds that support local nonprofits. Neighbor to Neighbor is the largest component fund of the Madison Foundation. It serves as a safety net supporting Madison Youth and Family Services and Senior Services to help individuals and families in their times of need.
