I encourage your readers to celebrate with us, The Madison Foundation, in the raising, managing, and giving back nearly $1 million to the town we love.
As board members of The Madison Foundation, it has been our privilege to be stewards of the only community foundation in Madison. It has been your readers’ generosity and support that has enabled The Madison Foundation to thrive, and respond to the mission begun 16 years ago: “To make Madison a better place to live both now and in the future.”
The $1 million has been given back in to the community through grants and scholarships; support for cultural, social, and environmental programs; and service for emerging needs within our community. Please see our ad published today in The Source to see a sampling of our grant recipients and funds. Together, we have invested in the community and enriched it for all.
Our work continues, as does the commitment of The Madison Foundation to our town. Community foundations hold a unique place in our communities because we do not represent just one cause or donor. We identify and respond to initiatives that benefit all Madison residents. The Madison Foundation does rely on donations, large and small, to support many of our grant requests. We look to build our base of named legacy funds whose gift lives on forever.
We celebrate your readers’ generosity, $1 million, and share with them the pride for our Madison community. As we kick off our 2012 annual appeal, I encourage your readers to consider joining others in making a donation to The Madison Foundation to leave a positive and lasting mark for Madison.
